Common Questions

What customers most often ask about contract manufacturing

These cover minimum order quantities, sampling lead times, formulation confidentiality and export compliance. If your question is not here, please get in touch.

What is the minimum order quantity for contract manufacturing?

For an established formulation the minimum is typically 20 tonnes, one standard container. A bespoke formulation usually starts at 25 tonnes because it needs its own production slot and line clean-down. Bulk road tankers ship at 25 tonnes per load. Final quantities are agreed against your packaging format and annual volume.

How long does sampling take?

Samples of an existing formulation usually ship within five to seven working days. Where a formulation has to be designed, laboratory sampling takes about two to three weeks, after which pilot and small-batch trials can be scheduled. International transit and customs clearance are additional.

Will our formulation be kept confidential?

Yes. A non-disclosure agreement is signed before a project begins. Formulations, process parameters and specifications you provide are used only to manufacture your product — never for our own brands and never disclosed to third parties. Ownership of intellectual property arising from ODM joint development is set out separately in the contract.

Which countries can you export to, and is extra certification needed?

The plant holds FSSC 22000, HACCP and HALAL certification, and product already ships to more than 100 countries and territories. Most markets need no repeat certification. Where a destination has particular labelling, additive or nutrition-declaration rules, we accommodate them at the formulation and packaging stage.

What packaging formats are available?

Standard formats are cartons (25 kg, lined), bag-in-box (BIB), drums (200 kg), 1,000 L IBC totes and 25-tonne bulk road tankers. Pastry margarine sheet weight and folding can be set to your specification, and printed packaging can carry your own brand design.

What are typical lead times?

Established products are produced within 15 to 20 days of a confirmed production slot. A first run of a bespoke formulation takes roughly 30 to 40 days, covering formulation sign-off, raw material procurement and trial verification. Sitting inside the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone keeps export clearance and vessel loading tightly connected, which shortens total transit.
