Mewah Group began with an oils and fats packing plant at Pandan Loop, Singapore, in the 1950s. Starting in packing and then reaching upstream into refining and processing is a familiar path in this industry, though not an easy one: it asks a company to build capital, technology and markets at the same time.

  • 1950s — the first oils and fats packing plant starts up at Pandan Loop, Singapore
  • 1987 — the first refinery is completed in Selangor, Malaysia
  • 2010 — the Group lists on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange
  • 2011 — Mewah Oils (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. is incorporated in China as a wholly owned subsidiary
  • 2025 — the Tianjin plant begins production
  • Today — a multinational group centred on Singapore, doing business around the world, with 17 plants

Group refining capacity now exceeds 4.5 million tonnes a year, product reaches more than 100 countries and territories, and brands including OKI, MOI, Mewah and VIKOR hold long-standing channels in several markets. For a contract customer the significance of that scale is concrete: bargaining power on raw material, continuity of supply, and the ability to serve one customer from more than one country.

The Tianjin plant is where that path lands in China. Incorporated in 2011 and in production since 2025, with total investment of USD 59.78 million, occupying 168,872 m² and producing 100,000 tonnes a year, it serves as the Group's specialty fats base in China and as an export platform into north-east Asia.
